Would you like to enroll your child in Memphis Community Schools but don't live within the district borders? Below you will find information on the 2025-26 Schools of Choice enrollment process.
The application period for the second semester of the 2025-26 school year begins on December 1, 2025. The window for Memphis Community Schools is December 1, 2025 through January 23, 2026 at 11 am.
Memphis offers openings for Young Fives - through Grade 12 as noted below:

Applications must be returned to St Clair County RESA within the SOC window in order to be considered, and approved and enrolled prior to the second semester starting. Applications cannot be submitted prior to December 1st.
Determination letters will be mailed by St Clair County RESA.
Items to be considered
- If your child is in Young Fives through Grade 12, lives out of District, and has already submitted a School of Choice Application that has already been approved, you do not need to complete another School of Choice application, provided there has been continuous enrollment at MCS since acceptance and you have not moved in and then back out of the district.
- If a child (Young Fives - Grade 12) has been accepted through Schools of Choice, but the family moved into the District and then back out, you must complete another School of Choice Application. In the event the window is closed, please contact district office for waiver information at (810) 535-8227.
- If your child was accepted on a release for the 1st Semester of the 2025-26 school year, you MUST complete a Schools of Choice application for the 2nd semester of the 2025-26 school year.
